Paranoia Agent [Ep. 1–6]

After making his first three feature films with Madhouse, Satoshi Kon returned to the studio for his first and only television series. Across 13 episodes, the city of Musashino is terrorised by a mysterious boy on roller skates who attacks residents with a golden baseball bat. As two detectives investigate the assaults, the connections between the victims become clear: they are people under intense pressure, looking for a way to escape reality. Moving between mystery and the supernatural, Paranoia Agent offers a sharp portrait of anxiety and fear in contemporary society. This screening presents episodes 1–6.
