Enter the Void

In Tokyo, orphaned siblings Oscar and Linda survive on the margins of society: he deals drugs and she works in a strip club. After Oscar is killed during a police operation, he refuses to leave the world of the living, held there by his promise to protect his sister. Through fluid camera movements and shifts between the dead protagonist’s point of view and an omniscient perspective, the film dissolves the boundaries between life, death and memory. Premiering at Cannes and featuring sound design by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, Enter the Void is a hypnotic, sensory and radical experience, considered one of the boldest works by the director of Irreversible and Climax.
