Cock Robin are one of the most distinctive international pop bands of the 1980s. Led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Peter Kingsbery, the group won millions of fans around the world with elegant sound, timeless melodies and songs that crossed generations, becoming a true phenomenon, particularly in Europe. Formed in Los Angeles in 1985, Cock Robin emerged during a period of transformation in pop music driven by the birth of MTV. Success was immediate, with songs including “The Promise You Made”, “When Your Heart Is Weak”, “Just Around the Corner”, “Thought You Were On My Side”, “The Biggest Fool of All” and “Worlds Apart”, all featured on the band’s first three albums, each of which achieved platinum records in several European countries. After major international tours, a reunion in 2006 and new releases such as Chinese Driver and Homo Alien, Peter Kingsbery kept Cock Robin’s legacy alive, renewing the line-up without losing the sonic identity that made the band a landmark in pop history. In 2027, Cock Robin return to the stage with the [85–89] tour, dedicated exclusively to the band’s first three albums. The show celebrates the golden years of their career and brings together the greatest hits that marked a generation, in a set designed for longtime fans and a new audience still discovering the magic of their songs. On 2 May, Coliseu Porto Ageas gives the Portuguese audience the chance to relive one of the most iconic bands of the 1980s in an evening of classics, emotion and memories—a concert not to be missed, celebrating a unique career and rediscovering songs that remain timeless.
