A Corda

The seventh session of the film and conversation cycle Um Filme Falado: Espaços (I)materiais presents Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope (A Corda, 1948), with theatre director Victor Hugo Pontes and sociologist Augusto Santos Silva, moderated by Anabela Mota Ribeiro. The film follows two men who commit a murder and then host a party for the victim’s friends and family while hiding the body in a chest used as a buffet table. The session also considers Hitchcock’s mise-en-scène, long takes and use of depth of field.
