25 years of Casa da Animação

The Batalha marks the 25th anniversary of Casa da Animação, an association founded in 2001 to promote, disseminate and support animation cinema in Portugal, with a selection of short films presented that same year in partnership with the National Film Board of Canada. The programme brings together works by Martin Barry, Caroline Leaf, Claude Cloutier, Michèle Cournoyer, Jacques Drouin, Ryan Larkin, Norman McLaren, Gayle Thomas, and the duo Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis, exploring different animation languages and techniques. These films shaped several generations of authors and decisively influenced the development and recognition of Portuguese animation. Entry is free with same-day ticket collection, limited to two tickets per person.
